Chakras: The Energy Centers of the Human Body

The word Chakra comes from Sanskrit and means "wheel" or "disc." In the context of spiritual and holistic wellness, chakras are the vital energy centers within the human body. They function as spinning wheels of energy that regulate the flow of praana—the life force that sustains our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

There are seven primary chakras, each located at specific points along the spine, from its base to the crown of the head. Each chakra governs particular physical, emotional, and spiritual functions:

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Located at the base of the spine; associated with grounding, survival, and stability.
2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Located just below the navel; governs creativity, emotions, and sensuality.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Found in the upper abdomen; connected to personal power, confidence, and willpower.
4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) – Located at the center of the chest; linked to love, compassion, and emotional healing.
5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Situated in the throat area; responsible for communication and self-expression.
6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Found between the eyebrows; associated with intuition, inner wisdom, and clarity.
7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – Located at the top of the head; represents spiritual connection and enlightenment.

When these chakras are balanced and energy flows freely, we experience vitality, emotional harmony, and spiritual alignment. However, when a chakra is blocked or imbalanced—due to stress, trauma, or negative emotions—it can lead to physical ailments, emotional disturbances, or a sense of disconnection.
